The CZ steel forming machine is a device that can produce these two types of steel, which can be switched by replacing some of the rollers or adjusting the mechanism.
C-shaped steel: The cross-section resembles the English letter "C" and is usually formed by gradually bending a coil material through multiple rolls. Mainly used for purlins, wall beams, etc.
Z-shaped steel: The cross-section resembles the English letter "Z", characterized by a center of gravity offset, and has good lap performance and bearing capacity when used as roof purlins.
A standard CZ steel forming machine typically consists of the following systems:
Material release system (uncoiler):
Used for carrying and unfolding steel coils.
Usually equipped with a leveling device, it is used to preliminarily level the bending stress of the coil and confirm that the material entering the forming machine is straight.
Forming system (host):
The core part consists of a series of forming roller sets arranged in sequence.
Each set of rollers performs a small, gradual bending of the sheet metal, ultimately forming a complete C-shaped or Z-shaped cross-section at the next set of rollers.
Rollers are usually made of high-strength alloy steel and undergo heat treatment and meticulous processing to confirm their practicality and forming accuracy.
Cut off the system:
Cut the profile accurately when it reaches the preset length.
Type:
Hydraulic cut-off: Strong force, smooth operation, suitable for thicker materials.
Flying saw cutting: During the cutting process, the saw blade moves synchronously with the profile to achieve dynamic cutting. The incision is very smooth and free of burrs, which is a standard configuration of excellent equipment.
Pneumatic cutting: suitable speed but small force, mostly used for thin plates.
Electric control system:
The "brain" of a device is usually centered around a PLC (Programmable Logic Controller).
Function: Control the entire production process, including feeding, forming, sizing, cutting, discharging, etc.
The operator can easily set parameters such as production length, quantity, speed, etc. through the human-machine interface (touch screen).
Material receiving platform/automatic stacking rack:
Used to receive and collect finished profiles after cutting, and automatically stack them neatly for easy packaging and transportation.
One machine dual-use, strong flexibility:
The core advantage lies in the fact that one machine can produce two commonly used types of cold-formed steel, meeting the diverse product needs of customers and reducing equipment investment.
Good efficiency and automation level:
From coil to finished product, the entire process is automated, with a speed of 20-50 meters per minute or even higher, far exceeding traditional stamping and welding processes.
Accurate fixed length, smooth incision:
Using PLC control and an encoder with suitable accuracy for measuring length, the cutting length error is small (usually ± 1mm). The quality of the cross-section cut by the flying saw is particularly good.
Good material utilization and cost savings:
Using rolls as raw materials, there is almost no waste of scraps, and the material utilization rate is close to 90%.
Good strength and stable quality of finished products:
Cold bending forming technology is a cold working process that does not change the metallic properties of the material, but rather increases the strength of the steel section to a certain extent due to work hardening. Automated production ensures the consistency of every product.
Easy to operate, saving manpower:
Only 1-2 operators are needed for loading, monitoring, and unloading, with relatively low skill requirements for workers.
