Analysis of Daily Safety Operating Procedures for Color Steel Tile Machines

Time:2026-10-29 04:54:44 Author:xiangyi Click:196

As an essential core cold roll forming equipment in steel structure buildings, light steel villas, and storage warehouses, the operational efficiency of color steel roll forming machines directly impacts project delivery schedules. However, because the equipment involves multiple complex systems—including mechanical transmission, hydraulic shearing, and electrical control—improper operation can easily lead to safety accidents such as mechanical injuries, electric shocks, or fires. Therefore, establishing and strictly enforcing daily safety operating procedures is not only the foundation for ensuring continuous production but also the core defense line for protecting operators' lives and reducing corporate operational risks.
Personnel Qualifications and PPE Standards
The primary prerequisite for safe operation is ensuring personnel professionalism and strict protective measures. All operators must undergo systematic professional training and are only permitted to operate the machine after passing an assessment of the equipment structure, operational procedures, and emergency handling methods. Unauthorized personnel are strictly prohibited from operating the equipment. Regarding Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), operators must wear proper labor protection gear before starting work, including fitted work clothes, safety helmets, safety goggles, and steel-toed boots. To prevent entanglement accidents, wearing scarves, ties, or other easily caught accessories is strictly forbidden. Long hair must be completely tucked into a safety cap, and wearing loose clothing, skirts, or sandals during operation is strictly prohibited. Furthermore, operators must remain alert and focused; operating the equipment under the influence of alcohol, excessive fatigue, illness, or distraction is absolutely forbidden.
Pre-Startup Comprehensive Inspection and Test Run
Before each formal production run, a comprehensive safety inspection of the equipment and surrounding environment must be conducted. First, clear the work area of debris, oil spills, and standing water to ensure unobstructed walkways, adequate lighting, and slip-resistant floors. Safety warning signs must be posted around the equipment, and unauthorized personnel are strictly prohibited from lingering. Next, conduct a detailed inspection of the machine itself: confirm that the base and supports are securely fastened; check that transmission components (such as chains, gears, and belts) are intact with proper tension and that protective guards are securely installed; verify that power lines are undamaged and properly grounded; ensure hydraulic or pneumatic systems have normal oil levels/pressure with no leaks; and test safety accessories like emergency stop buttons, safety interlocks, and photoelectric sensors for responsiveness. After confirming that the molds are securely installed, the mold cavity is free of foreign objects, and the sheet specifications meet requirements, a jog or no-load test run must be performed. Only after confirming smooth operation without abnormal noise or vibration can formal production begin.
Core Safety Prohibitions During Operation
The equipment operation phase carries the highest safety risks. Operators must maintain high vigilance and strictly adhere to operational discipline. Equipment startup must strictly follow the sequence: "main power first, then control power, and finally the main unit." During the feeding process, operators must stand in a safe position. Hands are strictly prohibited from entering dangerous areas such as press rollers and molds. Dedicated auxiliary tools must be used for feeding, and long sheets require coordinated personnel with clear communication signals. During operation, overloading or arbitrarily adjusting parameters like pressure and speed is strictly prohibited. Cleaning, lubricating, adjusting, or repairing the equipment while it is running is strictly forbidden. Touching moving parts or hot processed materials by hand is prohibited, as is storing tools or debris in the mold movement area. If mold replacement or internal adjustments are required, the safety closed-loop process of "Stop Machine, Cut Off Main Power, Hang Warning Sign, and Assign Dedicated Monitoring" (Lockout/Tagout) must be strictly enforced.
Shutdown Standards, Site Cleanup, and Emergency Response
Shutdown and cleanup after production are equally critical to safety. Normal shutdown should follow the sequence: "stop feeding first, wait for remaining material to exit, then sequentially turn off the main unit, control power, and main power." In case of a sudden emergency, operators must decisively press the emergency stop button and only restart after identifying the cause and eliminating the hazard. After shutdown, use dedicated tools to clean iron filings, oil, and debris from the equipment and molds; reaching into dangerous areas with bare hands is strictly prohibited. Finished products and scrap should be stacked separately according to regulations, tools returned to their proper places, and equipment operation and shift handover records accurately completed. For emergency response: in case of mechanical injury, immediately cut off power, provide first aid, and call for emergency services; for electric shocks, immediately cut off power or use insulated tools for rescue; in case of fire, cut off power immediately and use dry powder or CO2 fire extinguishers—using water to extinguish electrical fires is strictly prohibited. All accident scenes must be preserved and reported promptly.
Daily Maintenance and Long-Term Safety Management
The long-term stable operation of the equipment relies on standardized maintenance. Enterprises should establish a regular maintenance system for cleaning, lubricating, tightening, and replacing wearing parts. All maintenance work must be performed by professionals according to the manual, strictly adhering to the "Lockout/Tagout" (LOTO) principle. If abnormalities such as unusual noises, odors, smoke, severe vibration, or sheet jamming occur during operation, the machine must be stopped and reported immediately. Forcibly restarting the equipment before the fault is completely resolved is strictly prohibited. By strictly implementing these safety procedures, enterprises can effectively prevent various safety accidents and significantly reduce equipment failure rates. This ensures that in the fierce competition of the overseas market, we can provide customers with safer, more efficient, and reliable color steel roll forming machine products and production solutions.
